What happened
An intoxicated passenger on American Airlines flight 447 from Los Angeles to New York became verbally abusive and physically threatening toward a flight attendant approximately 90 minutes into the flight. The crew declared the situation unsafe and diverted to Albuquerque. Twelve passengers missed connections. A business traveler missed a $12,000 client presentation. American offered 500 miles to affected passengers — declined by 11 of 12.
